We are a grassroots nonprofit, with the purpose of engaging the community in fun events which support local programs that serve children and emergency human needs.
The “Cars that Care” Pine Car Derby celebrates the American icon; the automobile… and the people who love them. We invite the community to participate in a little drag racing right in the middle of downtown Longmont.
The 4th Annual “Cars that Care” Pine Car Derby will take place Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the Old Town Marketplace; 332 Main Street in historic downtown Longmont’s Creative District!

Get help building your car! A Car Build Clinic will take place on Saturday, September 9th at ArtWalk, look for our booth! AND… at the Old Town Marketplace on Friday, September 29th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A special “Outlaw” Build Clinic, October, Friday the 13th; 7:00 p.m. to midnight!
Create your car from design, cutting & sanding, painting, affixing the wheels, to adding weight to test running on the 60 foot track.
Who we are & Who we want to be...
I‘ve been asked why? You might ask why.
Why another nonprofit when there are good, solid organizations in our community, run by caring & capable people doing good work?
When you become aware of people in our community unable to access existing programs due to necessary policies against substance abuse or behavioral issues… some people remain needing a helping hand; sometimes needing a place to sleep for a night, or a meal for the day or perhaps a prescription filled.
Other times, an established organization could use a helping hand with raising funds or volunteer help.
We want to help!
We are a local, grassroots 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization (#84-3182619) established by a few community members wanting to; Have Fun… on Purpose! Creating and producing fun, community involved events to help raise tax deductible donations in support of local programs serving children and emergency human services.
Service is part of who we want to be!
