We are a grassroots nonprofit, with the purpose of engaging the community in fun events which support local programs that serve children and emergency human needs.
The “Cars that Care” Pine Car Derby celebrates “Having fun on Purpose”. We invite young and old to some drag-racing on Main Street in downtown Longmont’s Creative District!
The 7th Annual “Cars that Care” Pine Car Derby is being prepared as you read this to take place at the Old Town Marketplace: 332 Main Street , Fall of 2026; to benefit Longmont Food Rescue.

Who we are & Who we want to be...
We've been asked, why? You might ask why.
Why another nonprofit when there are good, solid organizations in our community managed by caring and capable people doing good work?
When you become aware of people in our community unable to access existing programs due to necessary policies against substance abuse or behavioral issues… some people remain needing a helping hand; sometimes a place to sleep for a night, or a meal for the day or perhaps a prescription filled.
Other times, an established organization could use a help with raising funds or volunteer help.
We want to help!
We are a local, grassroots 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization (#84-3182619) established by a few people wanting to; Have Fun… on Purpose! Creating and producing fun, community involved events to help raise tax deductible donations in support of local programs serving children and emergency human needs.
Service is part of who we want to be!
What motivated you to extend compassion and care for someone else?
We all have our reasons and personal history that moves us to make a difference in someone else’s life.
When a community comes together and we commit our collective will and resources onto solving issues; creating opportunities, we… create change!
